Games 5 & 6: Gavin's Party and the Return of Adam Godwin

We have been really busy with our own baseball schedules this spring and with school still going on it has been tough to get to games.  We knew with the Memorial Day weekend we could catch a couple of games and it was against the Sugar Land Skeeters!  Gavin had some friends coming to the game with us on Sunday to celebrate his birthday and we went down on the field to play catch before the game.  Adam Godwin is Gavin's favorite player and he got traded to the Skeeters in the off season.  Dad talked to Adam last week and he said he would come and play catch with us for a little bit.

After catch we stuck around to get some autographs of the Skeeters and I was happy to get Koby Clemens to sign for us.  I got my picture with Koby in Lexington back in 2006 and he signed my picture and a few cards for us.  Kyle even got in on the action and got a few autographs!  Oh no!!!

Monday we went back to the ballpark and they had a special Memorial Day ceremony.  It was really awesome.  Lots of veterans were there along with bagpipes, cannons, 21 gun salute, taps, and a flyover.  The guys in the bullpen for Lancaster always do something different for the National Anthem.  Monday was really cool...they all stood on top of the dugout with American flags!  Definitely the best one yet, Ross!

It was a great weekend to be at the park and the Barnstormers won both games and took 3 out of 4 from the red hot Skeeters!

Game 4: And Biingo was his Name-O

May 5 was a date that was circled on our calendar when the York Revolution released their promo schedule.  Biingo at the ballpark.  We are big fans of The Biggest Loser and this season they had kids on for the first time.  We love to see the hard work people put in to get healthy and we're big fans of the 3 trainers. Like a lot of people, this season, our family fell in love with Biingo.  We have a lot in common including our love for baseball.

Biingo was at York to talk to kids about living a healthy lifestyle and making good choices with food and exercise.  Our local tv station also had a contest for "Biingo's Buddies" which would allow you down on the field to play with Biingo before the game.  Even though we didn't get to do that, we wanted the chance to meet him.

Our friends Isaac and Abe went with us and we got to play a little catch on the field before the game.  We didn't try for any autographs from the Ducks or Revolution because we wanted to try to meet Biingo.  We got that chance before the game and got our picture with him and talked to him for a couple of minutes.  He was really nice to talk to and signed a ball and program for us.  Thanks Biingo!  For those fans of the show, Biingo has lost weight since the finale and looks great!!!

Game 3: Long Island Ducks @ Lancaster Barnstormers

Last week we were getting our first chance to see the Long Island Ducks since last seasons heart breaking season finale.  The Ducks made lots of big splashes in the off season by signing MLB veterans like Vladamir Guerrero, Dontrelle Willis, Ian Snell, and Ramon Castro.  We were able to get some Ducks autographs, but only Ramon Castro of the 4 listed.  He was nice and signed 2 cards each for us.  With it being a school night, we didn't stay until the end to try to get the others.  Hopefully next time we see them, Vlad will be with the team.  We did go get some more Barnstormer cards signed and did pretty well with them.  The Barnstormers won the game and are off to a great start this season!
