Sacramento Kings

We have a few posts to catch up on and the first is a package from the Sacramento Kings.  We got an envelope with 12 autographed pictures in it.  They were all of former Kings and BYU guard Jimmer Fredette.  He was a huge start at BYU, leading the nation in scoring his senior season.  Thank you Kings for your support.

Game 2: Ducks vs Barnstormers

Last weekend we made it to our 2nd game of the season.  The Long Island Ducks were in town and our friend, Emil, would be coming down for Saturday nights game.  We got to the ball park early and had a chance to hang with Emil for a while and just catch up.  It's really cool to think of some of the friends we have because of baseball.  Emil has been great to get to know and the support he's given us has been awesome.  We pretty much just chatted with him while the players were going in and out of the clubhouse.  He did give us a 2014 Ducks team signed ball which is great!  As for the game, the Ducks beat the Barnstormers 5-0...but that's ok, we still had a great time and look forward to seeing him again.

1st Game of the Season...Barnstormers vs Patriots

Last weekend the Lancaster Barnstormers had their first home stand of the 2014 season.  Friday night was a boys night out.  Mom was at a conference so dad took us to the Friday night game.  It was our first chance to see the 2014 team and they looked good even though they lost 8.6. We were able to get a few autographs and see some friends, but it was great to get back to the ball park.  In addition to the autographs, Kyle came home with our first ball of the season!

Dallas Mavericks

Another NBA team has responded with a great package for us.  One thing that makes the Mavericks easy to like is owner Mark Cuban.  We love watching him on "Shark Tank" and his story from fan to owner.  The team sent us 2 signed photos... one of All Star Dirk Nowitzki and the other of Shawn Marion.  Thanks Mavericks and good luck next season!

Los Angeles Lakers

We sent some letters to NBA teams at the end of the season to let them know of my mission to raise money and awareness for Alopecia Areata.  So far several teams have responded.  The first one was the Los Angeles Lakers.  They are usually playing this time of year, but were hammered with injuries this season.  They were so kind to send us an 8x10 photo of Steve Nash and a Read to Achieve folder from the 2004 season that was signed by Hall of Fame forward Karl Malone!  Thank you to the Lakers staff for helping out...we appreciate it!

Creighton Forward #3 Doug McDermott

I recently got a pretty cool package in the mail. I was actually surprised to see a photo signed "To Blake, Go Jays!" from my favorite college basketball player, Doug McDermott.  He spent 4 seasons at Creighton University and set tons of records.  He led the nation in scoring in 2014, finished his career 5th on the all time NCAA scoring list with over 3,000 points,  is a 3 time All American, and has won every player of the year award for his senior season.  He will be taken pretty high in the NBA draft in June...hopefully by the Sixers! When I saw the envelope from Creighton, I thought maybe a nice letter, or maybe a picture of his dad who is Creighton's head coach.  I was thrilled to add a great photo of my favorite player to my collection.  I can't wait to get it framed up for my room!

Thanks Doug and good luck in the NBA!
